Lord of the Flies - Found Poem

What Could Be Safer?

A pair of butterflies
Danced round each other in the
glossy patches of sunshine.
The shore, was fledged with
palm trees
tropical weed and
coral.
What could be safer?

A sliver of moon rose over the horizon.
Within the diamond haze in the beach,
Something dark was fumbling along.

In
the forest,
no movements but the
tearing of teeth and claws.
Vicious snarling
echoed with the parody of laughter.
Dull eyes.
Blackened between the teeth.
Piles of guts.
Mask of dried blood.

A gift for the beast.
